Letters of Note: I am very real.
Vonnegut fascinates me as a being. I find this letter especially interesting since it seems that often humans do treat entities removed from them physically as barely real. Vonnegut’s assurance that “I am very real” feels familiar to me. It is as if the assertion of one’s presence from time to time as actual and real is a necessary human activity. If one fails to assert their existence, is that existence then in jeopardy? Of course, if you are here reading this, you know that I believe the answer to my question is “yes.”
